I suppose they were filled with fear when they saw Jesus after His death because they saw Him suffered & died before their very own eyes & probably thought that He was a ghost. They were comforted when they saw Him eating because they realized that He indeed was alive in the flesh again.

How might you have felt seeing Jesus after knowing he had died? If I had seen Jesus after knowing He had died, I would be surprised but full with joy just for knowing that He was alive again.
