What actions of the scribes did Jesus warn against? Do we have people who act like this now?

We must be carefull not to seek praise from the people instead we should do things in secret so that only our heavenly father who sees this can reward us. We must be humble and seek to serve others. Jesus also warns us not to take people for granted or disrespect them. Yes we do have people like this in our communities.

Why does Jesus place commandments to actively love above commandments to refrain from evil (thou shall notÃ¢€Â¦)? Note: Jesus answered with two quotations from the Jewish law about loving God (Deuteronomy 6:4), and about loving neighbors (Leviticus 19:18).

This is because love concours all things. When we love God we are drown to respect and fear him. When we have all this we will want to love others as well because that's what God would want us to do. When we have love in our hearts we have no drive to do ever and so our love acts as a protection shield towards doing evil. So thats why its more important to love.
