He loved everyone - the rich, poor, young, and old, He did not love one any less than he did the other. He came to bridge the gap between the social and cultural divide. Reaching out to the down trodden man in the gutter was Jesus model for us all, and to show us that present wealth and good health are not the providers for our treasures in heaven, no, but it is in the good work you do when you reach out in love to those in need. Jesus came and chose the foolish things of this world in order to comfound the wise. Through his meeting and greating of the masses that followed him, it is clear that the poor made up the greater number. His time was spent with those who needed him most, the poor, the hungry, the sick, the crippled, those thirsty for the things of God. Fast forwarding...the story of Lazarus and the rich man is likened unto your word is a light to my feet and a lamp to my path. The poor will always trust in God, while the rich will always trust in their personal wealth and possessions.
