What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

There is not anything in particular that surprises me but I found each setting to be very interesting. I was not completely aware of the politics during the time of Jesus and I never gave any thought to whether Jesus had any siblings so it was very surprising to find that Mary and Joseph had other children.

Why was Peter`s rebuke a stumbling block to Jesus?

JESUS had a job to do, GOD plan was taking affect, so no one not even peter would stand in the way od GODS plan

Why didn`t Jesus want his disciples to tell others that He was the Christ?

maybe JESUS want people to see for themselves that HE was THE CHRIST, or maybe HE beleived that they would not accept it if it was told to them, rather they should feel for themselves
