Why did Jesus take just Peter, James and John with Him to witness his transfiguration? Jesus took with Him Peter, James and John to witness His transfiguration in order to comfort and show them that He is sinless even though He will be killed. He wanted to intruct them on what kind of message they should preach and that they should not tell anybody about transfiguration until His ressurection from the dead. He wanted them to see the old testament prophets; Moses and Elijah and to hear God speaking to them that " Jesus is God's beloved son, in Him God is pleased". This was so to let them know that they should listen to Jesus when instructed. Moreover, they had a good time to understand the mission of John the Baptist.

Why was Peter`s rebuke a stumbling block to Jesus? Peter's rebuke a stumbling block to Jesus because it sound as if he had mercy and compassion to Jesus but not knowing that Jesus was to be killed in Jerusalem for the salvation of all mankind in order to fulfill the plan of God. Satan entered in the heart of Peter and was acting out of ignorance thinking that Jesus will be pleased from his advice. Peter settled his mind on the things of men rather than the things of God. Peter was afraid to being killed together with Jesus which was of no use as he was failing to take up the cross and face death because of Jesus. Brothers and Sisters, let us take up the cross and follow Jesus at the same time allowing the will of God to be done upon us . Amen!!!
