How come the unbelief of His countrymen prevented Jesus from performing many mighty works among them? Jesus knew that they would not believe as they are his home town people. He said, 'A prophet is not accepted in his own home town' to mean that even if he does signs and speaks wisdom they will refer to his parents and sisters as known here instead of seeing him as the son of God.
