Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God? The High Priest was a learned Jew who knew what blasphemy was. He in his faithless state did not believe that Jesus was/is the son of God and Jesus was not blaspheming rather than telling them the fact of his destiney; going to the Father ''GOD''.
The high priest is more in the books of scriptures about the Messiah but he was not give the chance by his beliefs and education to recognise Jesus.

Why did Judas betray Jesus with a kiss? Have you come out as against a robber with swords and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn`t arrest me. But all this has happened, that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.
This is a very nice reason to why Judas kissed Jesus for betrayal. The scriptures had to get fulfilled.
