Why was it evil for the scribes and Pharisees to ask a sign from Jesus?

The Pharisees evil heart needs only miracle not Jesus. Also the Pharisees not believed in Jesus but seek only miracle like evil and adulterous generation.

I think they have Evil practice.
That is way they asked to Jesus to show them sign.

What did the Pharisees say against the Holy Spirit and why was it such a serious offense?

The Pharisees was not received the ministry of Jesus , not receive Him like messiah. They denying, says Jesus is using all miracles by Satan and against the Holy Spirit (Him)Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is to come.
